When April was just a few minutes or one hour old she was abandoned in a bin beside a pizza restaurant.   She was discovered by a young pizza boy (Frankie) there and named April by the hospital as she was found on April fool’s Day. Her first foster parent (Janet Johnson) killed herself because her husband left her when April was 4. April's then went on to lots of other care homes and foster parents but she just moved on.  On her fourteenth birthday she goes to her old care homes. She finds that she remembers little of it and the lady remembers little of her. Then April visits the grave of her adoptive mother, Janet Johnson. April then tells readers of the time she lived a care home called Sunny bank, run by Little Pete and Big Mo. Here, April was treated badly by a horrible little girl called pearl. Then she left Sunny bank April was taken to Fairleigh, a school. April stayed here for five years had a nice bond with her history teacher Miss Marion Bean.
